I Like Bad Boys...Halloween tumbler

This one was interesting. Using two new techniques - waterslide paper and drips. I started off with a white tumbler and I had used red alcohol ink to make a "bloody" background. As I was getting ready to put on the waterslide I noticed it was too dark. I had to strip the tumbler and start again. I was very low on white spray paint so I used another light color first and then put the white on top. I put the waterslide on and got the water out...it did tear in one spot but I somewhat got it repaired.

When I did the drips I watched a lot of videos and they all mentioned a thickener which I did not have. But, one person mentioned using corn starch (Made by Mani and Mal) and that worked. Although I did have to mix up two batches of drips. The first one I let sit too long and that sucker got hard as a rock very quick. The second batch I made I sat over and kept stirring to get the right consistency and once it was ready I had to work very quickly.

I used the Vintage Lace as the base coat and then put the white on top. I printed out the PNG file on my printer and once the spray paint was dry I put the waterslide on top. I thought about it after, and next time I will put a coat of epoxy on first and then put the waterslide on. I then added the Ice Princess glitter in the the epoxy I put over the waterslide. I did a second coat of epoxy without any glitter in it.

For the drips I mixed some epoxy up with the Brea Reese alcohol ink (just a few drops), Raspberry Sparkle glitter, Garnet glitter, and a small amount of red acrylic paint that my daughter had in her art supplies. After all of that was combined I added some corn starch. I just kept adding until I thought is was thick enough. I then kept my eye on it as it thickened...I think it was less than a half hour before I started to put it on the tumbler. I really wasn't sure if I liked it or not. When it dried there were areas that were kind of jacked up so I did some sanding...and more sanding.

I ended up doing one last coat of epoxy after I sanded the entire tumbler. I am thinking I will get some of the thickener, but I am not sure if I will do more drips or not.
