This was my first peek-a-boo tumbler. It was a learning experience.
I prepped the tumbler and painted it with the Meadow Green spray paint. I then used Mod Podge and sprinkled the glitter on...I did a 2nd coat and then sealed it twice with the Mod Podge. I then adhered my vinyl design with removeable vinyl. The next step was to spray paint...this was the mistake that I made...I used primer which was thicker and when I went to remove my vinyl it actually messed up the epoxy...so I stripped it down and started over.
I was happy that I only had to go down to the epoxy level. I used my heat gun to soften the area that got messed up and started again...adhered the vinyl, then spray painted, then the fun part...doing the smoke look. I had a candle and while it was lit I put a fork in the flame which caused black smoke. I then turned the tumbler around getting the smoke affect on it. I made sure to hit the spots that got messed up really good. I then let things set and took my time peeling off the vinyl. Once I was sure the paint was cured I added the white glitter to the final coat of epoxy.
Right now I get all of my spray paint at Ace because they have decent prices and an amazing selection...also, they are close to my house.
